Christmas Star™ is a South African hippeastrum bred specifically for growing in pots. When planted in early November, its foliage and flowers usually emerge together, with shorter, sturdier stems that are less likely to topple.
After flowering, it can be kept in a sunny window and watered without letting the bulb dry out. Once frost danger has passed, it can be planted outdoors where winter conditions are suitable.
