Description
Dahlia Pacific Ocean is a tuberous-root dahlia native to Mexico and Central America. It grows in full sun and tolerates light shade, producing flowers through early summer and again in late summer until frost.
The plants are well suited to cutting: picking flowers encourages more blooms, while the top-sized tuber cluster establishes at about one plant per square foot. In USDA hardiness zones 8–10, it can overwinter outdoors; extra winter mulch and excellent drainage may allow overwintering in zone 7.
