Early Fantasy is a large Fritillaria imperialis with hanging bell-shaped flowers crowned by pineapple-like green leaves. Bulbs run 20/24 cm and produce 24 to 36-inch stems.
Plant in fall in rich, organic but well-drained soil, 1 per square foot. It is a heavy feeder with a skunk-like scent that helps resist critters.
