Description
Charleston Gray watermelon has crisp, fiberless red flesh and light greenish-gray skin. For an earlier crop in a short season, start seeds indoors in a warm, bright place 3 to 4 weeks before the last spring frost, then harden plants outdoors for a week before planting. Plastic mulch helps control weeds, retain soil moisture and keep fruit off the ground.
