Gladiolus Byzantinus is a hardy heirloom bulb that flowers in late spring, often before tender gladioli have been planted or have emerged. Long stalks carry purplish-pink, orchid-like blooms, sometimes with a white throat, above pointed foliage. The flowers also make a striking vase display with peonies and iris.
