Kleims Hardy is the gardenia variety valued for hardiness to zone 7 and strong sweet scent. This compact evergreen shrub bears crisp white star-like flowers from late spring into summer.
In colder zones grow it in a decorative container and bring inside for winter. Fits smaller or urban gardens.
