Southern Giant Curled is a 1935 All-America Selections winner with bright green, crumpled leaves and frilled edges. Plants grow large, upright and vigorous and impart a mild, mustardy flavor.
Sow the right-sized packet and serve young leaves raw in salads or lightly stir-fry more mature growth. This variety is slow to bolt and a superb candidate for freezing or canning.
