Fuyu is a non-astringent persimmon, so its sweet orange fruit can be eaten fresh from the tree without the mouth-drying taste associated with astringent varieties. The fruit has a long shelf life, and a mature tree can produce up to 300 pounds.
This grafted tree comes from a mother plant selected for flavorful fruit and hardy stock. Fuyu is widely grown in home gardens and suits outdoor growing in zones 7–11.
