Violet Queen salvia has scented flowers and leaves, with blooms that continue through summer when spent flower spikes are removed. Start the seeds indoors for first-year flowers, then cut full blooms for bouquets and table arrangements.
The plants suit sunny beds and support hummingbirds, butterflies and other pollinators. They are perennial in USDA zones 3–9 and tolerate drought.
