Garden Staples are heavy-gauge metal U-pins, 5 in. long and pointed with a 1 in. top, sold as 40.
Push through floating row cover, landscape fabric, plastic mulch, soaker hoses or bell cloches to anchor them. The heavy gauge holds for quite a few seasons.
