Coast of Maine Sprout Island Seed Starter is a fluffy compost-based mix of sphagnum moss, aged bark, perlite, kelp meal, lobster and crab shell meal, worm castings and mycorrhizae. It supplies slow-release nitrogen while holding moisture and air around young roots.
Moisten with warm water, fill containers to 1/4 inch from the top and settle by tapping. Sow as directed on the seed packet. Bag holds 16 QT.
