Description
Dahlia ‘Dutch Explosion’ is a cactus and semi-cactus type with fully double blooms whose pointed ray florets are narrower than those of decorative dahlias. The top-sized clustered tuber grows in full sun or light shade and flowers in early summer, then again in late summer until frost.
Plants are suited to cut-and-come-again harvesting and typically reach 1–2 feet tall with flowers about 2–3 inches across. Plant in zones 8–10, or protect in colder gardens with extra winter mulch and excellent drainage.
