Eucomis comosa is a South African native with a conical flower head filled with fragrant florets. A tuft of green leaves tops the stem, creating the pineapple-like form that gives this plant its common appeal.
Plant it in full sun or partial shade in regular, well-drained garden soil. It works in garden beds and as a striking centrepiece in a patio container.
