American Wintergreen forms a dense, slow-spreading evergreen mat, topping out at 3-6 inches tall and 12 inches wide. Burgundy-tinged leaves and red berries add color in fall and winter.
Use it in shady borders, woodland gardens, window boxes, or containers, including indoors in bright, cool spots.
