Description
Lambada bee balm, also called monarda, produces lavender-pink flower clusters that attract butterflies, hummingbirds and bees. Its edible petals have a lemon-mint-oregano flavor and can season savory dishes, tea, breads, fruit salad or punch.
This tender perennial tolerates dry soil better than many bee balm varieties but may not reliably overwinter, so it is often grown as an annual. The blooms add summer and fall color and work well in cut-flower arrangements.
