Description
Blue Beech is an heirloom paste tomato similar to Opalka, with thick flesh and few seeds. It was brought from Italy to Vermont during World War II and also tastes good sliced fresh; the plants are well adapted to northern climates.
Sow 1/4 inch deep indoors six weeks before the last frost, then transplant after frost. Space plants 24–36 inches apart and grow them in fertile soil with even moisture. Harvest when the fruit is red and firm.
