Bonny Best, also sold as John Baer, is an indeterminate Solanum lycopersicum heirloom with round flattened fruits under 8 ounces and a pleasantly acidic taste. Sow 1/4 inch deep indoors 6 weeks before last frost, space 24 to 36 inches apart outside after frost; sprouts in 7 to 14 days at 70 to 85ºF and ripens in about 72 days.
The packet holds 25 seeds. Set transplants deeper than they grew for stronger roots and pick when red and firm.
