Description
A tall backdrop for ponds and low spots, Joe Pye Weed grows 4-6 feet with upright columnar stems. In late summer it carries 5-6 inch clusters of wine-red blooms that draw butterflies.
Sow on the surface with a light cover in fall, or start indoors 8-10 weeks before last frost at 55-60°F. Cold treating 3-4 weeks aids sprouting.
