Description
Mache Greens, also called Cornsalad, is a member of the valerian family prized in France for its fine, nutty leaves. The packet holds 300 seeds (Valerianella locusta) and matures in about 60 days.
Sow 1/8 inch deep. Sprouts in 10-14 days at 45-65ºF soil; soil above 68°F slows germination. Sow 1 inch apart and thin to 4-6 inches. Plants a 20 foot single row. Cut whole heads at 2-3 inches tall. Give fertile, well-drained soil and even moisture.
