Description
Picotee Cosmos (Cosmos bipinnatus) produces large white flowers edged in deep rose and sometimes splashed or striped with crimson. The finely cut foliage grows into branching plants that bloom repeatedly into fall, making them useful for beds, cottage gardens and bouquets.
Sow ⅛ inch deep in full sun and poor to average, well-drained soil. Start indoors 4–6 weeks before the last frost at 70–75°F, or direct sow after frost; thin plants to 12–18 inches apart. Flowers appear about 75–90 days from seed. Deadheading extends flowering, while staking supports tall, full plants.
