Description
Walla Walla is a mild long-day onion. Spring sowing gives an acceptably mild crop in colder winters, while fall planting with light mulch suits milder areas.
Sow 1/4 inch deep. Start indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost. Sprouts in 5-10 days at 60-75°F. Transplant 2-6 inches apart. Buy fresh seed each year, as allium germination falls fast.
