Burpee Early Silver Line is an elongated oriental melon with sweet, fragrant white flesh. Its yellow skin has silvery furrows and is thin enough to peel like an apple.
For early fruiting or a short growing season, start seeds indoors in warm, bright conditions 3–4 weeks before the last spring frost. Harden plants outdoors for a week before transplanting; plastic mulch helps control weeds, retain moisture and keep fruit off the ground.
