Safari Adventure eucomis is a South African native that adds tropical form even in zone 6. Fleshy burgundy and green strap-shaped leaves send up flower spikes resembling miniature pineapples.
Hundreds of waxy, star-shaped 1" ivory flowers burst open, then shift to rich rose and purple tones, and cut well for vases.
