Description
Bloody Butcher is an 1845 heirloom dent corn that grows about 12 feet tall with 8-12 inch reddish-maroon ears. Kernels grind into colorful flour and cornmeal, and young ears eat like sweet corn.
Sow 1 inch deep outdoors in late spring after last frost when soil is at least 60F. Sow 4-6 inches apart in blocks of 4-5 rows 24-36 inches apart, then thin to 10-12 inches. Sprouts in 7-14 days at 60-85F. Packet plants a 30-40 foot row.
