Description
Broom corn is a sorghum, not a true corn, and produces large, splayed seedheads on tall corn-like stalks. This mixture contains more than 20 varieties with red, black, brown and natural colors; mature stalks can be dried for crafts, arrangements and natural broom fibers.
Sow 1/8 to 1/2 inch deep after the last frost when soil reaches 60°F. Seeds germinate in 7–10 days at 65–70°F. Cut stalks when the seeds are hard and glossy, then allow them to dry.
