Description
Cape Daisy (Venidium fastuosum) grows 16–24 inches tall, with unusual 3-inch flowers marked by white outer petals, purple and orange rings, and a nearly black centre. Its soft grey-green foliage spreads as the plant develops.
Sow the seeds on the soil surface and press them in, since light helps them germinate. Start indoors 6–8 weeks before the last frost or sow outdoors after frost; transplant seedlings 8–12 inches apart. Flowers appear in about 80–90 days from seed.
