Buckwheat is a fast-growing cover crop that accumulates phosphorus and shades out persistent weeds when planted early in spring. Plants reach about 3 feet tall and are not cold tolerant.
Sow 2-3 lbs per 1,000 sq ft and turn under about six weeks after planting. All bag sizes share the same variety and sowing rate.
