Creme de Cassis is a biennial hollyhock with 3 in blooms in black currant shades edged lighter, from singles to doubles on 5 ft columnar plants. Flowering can begin in the first year.
Sow on the surface and cover lightly, as seeds need some light. Sow outdoors after last frost or in fall, spacing 12-24 in apart. Sprouts in 10-21 days at 60-70 F. Blooms in the second season. Give full sun and fertile, moist, well-drained soil.
