Description
Crimson Sweet is an organic, open-pollinated watermelon and a former All-America Selections winner. Its nearly round melons have light and dark green stripes, deep red flesh and a typical weight of 15–25 pounds. Start seeds indoors 3–4 weeks before the last frost or sow outdoors once soil is above 70°F; plant 36–48 inches apart and provide fertile soil with steady moisture. Harvest when the nearest tendril dries, the ground spot turns butter yellow and the melon sounds hollow.
