Description
Early Wonder Tall Top develops globular dark red roots with a small taproot and medium-to-tall tops that are especially good as beet greens. The seed fruits can produce several seedlings, so thinning also supplies young greens for the kitchen.
Sow 1/2 inch deep in early spring once the soil reaches at least 50°F. Harvest baby beets from 1 inch across or leave roots to reach about 3 inches; sow every two weeks for a longer harvest.
