Description
Hollow Crown Parsnip, also known as Guernsey, is an 1850 heirloom valued for its long, smooth white roots and tender table quality. The packet contains 250 seeds, enough for an 8–12 foot row.
Sow 1/2 inch deep in loose soil from mid-spring, starting 2–3 weeks before the last frost, and keep the soil evenly moist until germination. Thin seedlings to 2–3 inches apart. The roots develop their best flavour after a few frosts and can remain in the ground under mulch for winter harvest.
