Description
Strawberry Spinach is an ancient European heirloom with triangular, saw-toothed leaves that can be eaten raw or cooked like spinach. If the plant is allowed to flower, it forms small, slightly sweet, strawberry-like fruits at the leaf axils; the dark red fruits make a bright salad garnish.
The packet contains 100 seeds. Direct sow in fertile, well-drained soil from early to mid-spring once the soil reaches 55°F, sowing 1/8 inch deep and 2–3 inches apart. The plant keeps producing new shoots through the season and handles summer heat well.
