SunBuzz, Helianthus annuus, is an annual that stays about 20 to 24 inches tall for containers, raised beds and fronts of beds. After the main bloom opens, side branches carry the show on with pollenless yellow flowers for cutting.
Sow 1/2 to 1 inch deep outdoors after the last frost when soil is over 70F, 12 to 24 inches apart. Seeds sprout in 7 to 14 days at 70 to 75F and flower in about 65 to 75 days. Needs full sun and loose, rich, well-drained soil.
