Description
Sweet Purple is an heirloom Asparagus officinalis variety with deep purple, sturdy spears that stay tender to the base. Sow 1/2" deep, 10-15" apart in a 4-6" trench and fill in as seedlings grow.
Seedlings sprout in 10-30 days at 70-80ºF soil. Start indoors 12-14 weeks before last frost after an overnight soak, then plant outside after frost in fertile, well-watered soil.
