Description
Colchicum speciosum produces cup-shaped flowers in mid to late autumn before its foliage appears. The leaves emerge in spring and resemble hosta foliage, while the bulbs can flower even before they are planted in soil.
Plant in rich, well-drained soil in partial shade or full sun. Colchicum is poisonous and should be kept away from people and animals that may try to eat it.
