California Blackeye No.5 is a Southern pea, also called cowpea. Super-productive legumes yield plentitudes of 6-8 in pods filled with large seeds.
Seeds have rich, gently sweet flavor and good, meaty texture. For fresh use pick pods as soon as they fill out; heat-tolerant plants also suit dried harvests.
