Description
American Dream is an F1 hybrid sweet corn and the 2018 All-America Selections top choice. Plants reach 6–7 feet and produce bi-colour ears about 7–8 inches long. The kernels retain their sweetness for up to 10 days after harvest, giving home gardeners more flexibility at picking time.
Direct sow 1 inch deep after the last frost when soil reaches at least 60°F. Plant in blocks of four or five rows rather than one long row so wind pollination fills the ears evenly. Pick about 2 1/2–3 weeks after the silks appear, when they are dry and brown and the kernels are plump.
