Description
Anise Hyssop, Agastache foeniculum, grows 36 to 48 inches tall with 4 to 5-inch spikes of purple flowers. Dark green, arrow-shaped leaves carry a strong licorice flavor for drinks and cooking, and dry well for potpourris and arrangements.
Sow on the surface, since seed needs light to sprout. Sprout takes 7 to 30 days at 65 to 70ºF soil. Start indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost and plant outside after frost, 12 to 18 inches apart in full sun. Perennial in zones 4 to 8. Packet holds 100 seeds.
