Description
Compatto Dill (Anethum graveolens) is a short, upright annual dill with branching growth and dark-green foliage. It reaches 18–20 inches tall and is suited to containers, culinary harvests and drying. Leaves can be picked when plants reach 6–8 inches; seeds are ready after turning from green to brown.
Sow ⅛ inch deep in full sun and average to fertile, well-drained soil. Start indoors 3–4 weeks before the last frost or direct sow in mid-spring at 60–65°F, thinning plants to 3–6 inches apart. Removing flower stalks keeps leaf production going longer.
