Brightest Brillant Rainbow is an open-pollinated quinoa blend producing large heads in red, yellow, orange, white and green. Young leaves are edible, and mature seed cooks like rice after rinsing off the bitter saponin coating.
Sow in cool soil from April through May at 45 to 60ºF, in straight rows. Sprouts in 3 to 7 days. Thin to 8 to 18 inches apart when 6 inches tall. Grows 4 to 6 feet tall in rich, well-drained soil where days stay under 90 to 95ºF.
