Description
Bronze Mignonette is an open-pollinated butterhead lettuce with loose heads that reach about 10 inches across. Its leaves develop a saucy bronzy-red colour along the edges, adding contrast to salads and garden rows.
Sow ¼ inch deep in spring once the soil reaches 50°F, keeping it moist during germination. Thin seedlings to 6–12 inches depending on whether baby leaves or full heads are wanted. Harvest whole heads at the base or snip individual leaves, and make repeat sowings every 2–3 weeks for a longer harvest.
