Description
Bronzed Beauty Calendula (Calendula officinalis) forms upright, bushy annual plants with unusual two-tone flowers. The creamy peach petals curl upward to reveal bronzed burgundy undersides, and the blooms work in beds, containers and cut-flower arrangements.
Sow ¼ inch deep in full sun, or part shade in hot areas. Direct sow 1–2 weeks before the last frost, or start indoors 6–8 weeks ahead; space plants 6–12 inches apart. Flowers appear about 50–60 days from seed. Deadheading encourages continued blooming and reduces reseeding.
