Green Globe Improved is a heirloom Cynara scolymus dating to 1863. Plants are dark green and medium height, making elongated oval buds with somewhat spiny scales. This packet holds 25 seeds.
Start indoors 8-12 weeks before the last frost at 1/2 inch deep. Sprout takes 10-18 days at 70-80°F soil. Vernalize seedlings 10 days at 45-50°F for first-year buds in the north, then transplant 24-36 inches apart after frost.
