Description
Habanero produces very hot, deep-orange peppers with a rounded shape and a size of about 1 1/2 by 3 inches. It is also known as Scotch Bonnet, and the plants produce green fruit first, with some peppers maturing to orange and developing a sweeter flavor.
Start the seeds indoors 8–10 weeks before the last frost in warm soil. Sow 1/4 inch deep, transplant after frost, and give each plant 18–24 inches of space; outdoor sowing is not recommended, especially in northern areas.
