Description
Small Sugar Pumpkin is a pre-1860 heirloom with vigorous vines and excellent eating quality. The plants produce several 5–8 pound fruits and can grow on a trellis or other support.
Start seeds indoors three to four weeks before the last frost, or sow outdoors once the soil reaches at least 70°F. Plant 1/2–1 inch deep, leaving 36–48 inches between plants, and harvest when the rind is hard and the skin has reached its mature color.
