Description
Spearmint has a smoother, sweeter taste than many other mints. Harvest the leaves before flowering for fresh or dried use in herbal tea, drinks, gum and cooking; frequent cutting encourages continued leafy growth.
Sow the seeds on the soil surface because they need light to germinate. Start indoors 6–8 weeks before the last frost or sow outdoors two weeks before the last frost or in autumn. Grow it in a container if you want to limit its spreading habit.
