Description
White Sage is Salvia apiana, a perennial in zones 6-10 with white, felt-like foliage and strong aroma.
Sow 1/8-1/4 inch deep indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost in 70-75 degree soil, where it sprouts in 10-14 days. Transplant 12 inches apart in full sun and average to sandy, well-drained soil; outdoors sow 1-2 inches apart in spring and thin to 12 inches. Germination tested lots show naturally low sprout, so sow a little thick.
