Mountain Sweet Yellow is a watermelon variety grown from the red-fleshed Mountain Sweet of the mid-1800s. It makes large 20- to 35-pound oblong melons with dark green rind marked with lighter green stripes and sweet yellow fruit inside.
Plant in full sun in warm summers. Long warm summers grow the largest melons.
