Description
Calabrese Broccoli is an heirloom variety with dark green plants standing 18–30 inches tall. It produces a 3–6 inch central head, then continues with abundant side shoots; the flavor is pronounced and traditional.
Sow 1/4 inch deep in spring or midsummer for a fall crop. Provide fertile soil rich in organic matter and even moisture, and harvest the heads while they remain tight, before the flower buds open.
