Description
Chioggia beet comes from Chioggia on the Adriatic coast. Sow 1/2 inch deep; sprout comes in 5-10 days at 50-85ºF soil, faster when warm. Thin to 3-4 inches apart when 2-4 inches tall.
A packet plants a 15-20 foot single row. Soaking overnight aids sprouting, and one fruit often sends up several seedlings for greens.
